Monthly Album Roundup – March 2021

Welcome to the Decibel Boost Podcast album roundup for the month of March 2021. The first quarter of the year is now over, and with March in the rearview, it’s time to look back on the albums that the month had to offer, with a decent amount of interesting things from major artists… and some serious clunkers as well. First: Alex highlights the first album of original Evanescence material in 10 years, as well as a new Devin Townsend live album, and new offerings from Utada Hikaru and Lana Del Rey. Next up: Mark talks about the remix EP follow-up to Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats’ UNLOCKED as well as a handful of collaborative efforts from Benny The Butcher & Harry Fraud, Armand Hammer & The Alchemist, Guapdad 4000 and Illmind, and other offerings from the likes of DJ Muggs the Black Goat and tune-yards. Finally: Robert discusses the grand comeback of Genghis Tron after 13 years, Pupil Slicer offering up one of the best debut releases of the year, scattered offerings from Rob Zombie and Tigers Jaw… and he tries to give a fair chance to an AJR album for the first time.

Spoiler: it does not go well.
