Welcome to the Decibel Boost Podcast album roundup for the month of June 2022. We finally hit the halfway mark of the year, and while things mellowed out a bit from last month, there’s still quite a bit of musical material for the crew to sift through. First: Alex delves heavily into the big comeback release from Porcupine Tree after 13 years, in addition to various new live projects/archival releases from the likes of Dream Theater, Between The Buried & Me, Prince & The Revolution, and even a questionably produced remaster from Avril Lavigne. Next: Mark briefly touches on some newer projects from rappers such as Logic, Lupe Fiasco, Westside Boogie, and a couple of others (and thankfully no Drake so he doesn’t have to hum the melody of “Texts Go Green”). Finally: Robert dives into a new EP (?) from Spiritbox, the newest full-length from Japanese metal act Dir En Grey, and the part 2 follow-up to Coheed and Cambria’s Vaxis – Act I.
