Monthly Album Roundup – May 2020

Welcome to the Decibel Boost Podcast album roundup for the month of May 2020. With everything in the world still in a state of flux, the music industry itself is reflecting that as well, with high profile releases being pushed in and out of the May release window as well as major artists shadow-dropping releases out of the blue all throughout. First up: Alex gives a thorough breakdown of The 1975’s twice-delayed, and some would say “pointlessly overstuffed” new album. Next: Mark praises the latest efforts of Ka, Fire-Toolz, and the surprise collaboration between Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist. After that, Robert delves into some AOTY contenders from the likes of Backxwash, ACxDC, Jeff Rosenstock, and the much-anticipated return of Lady Gaga. Finally, as a special bonus, the crew decides to jump the gun (and fist) by a month to review the hard-hitting killer new album from hip-hop greats Run The Jewels.
