Monthly Album Roundup – July 2021

Welcome to the Decibel Boost Podcast album roundup for the month of July 2021. Unlike the past couple of years or so, the crew is not making the mistake of skipping over the month of July and letting it pile up with June, especially with a good handful of notable releases to delve into. First: Alex goes over a new solo outing from Misha Mansoor, a new archive release from Dream Theater, and the soundtrack to the blockbuster sequel Space Jam: A New Legacy (spoiler… it’s not good). Next: Mark touches on major new releases from the likes of Vince Staples and IDK, collaboration projects from DJ Muggs + Hologram and Declaime + Madlib, as well as the latest Top Dawg release from Isaiah Rashad (which will inspire no discourse at all…). Then: Robert touches on the surprise new EP from Yves Tumor, the debut solo release from Daughters’ Alexis Marshall, a new posthumous project from the late great Prince, and more. Finally, the group gets together to lay down their thoughts on the highly anticipated second studio album from pop superstar Billie Eilish.
